This antique pottery statue of Krishna as a child, crafted in the 19th century, showcases the rich artistic heritage of India. Measuring 30 cm in height, 25 cm in width, and 13 cm in depth, it embodies the playful and endearing nature of Krishna during his youth, holding a pot that traditionally symbolizes abundance and joy.

Krishna is a central figure in Hindu mythology, revered as a god who exemplifies love, compassion, and divine playfulness (lila). This statue captures his charm, drawing from the ancient stories where he is depicted as a mischievous child, often found stealing butter, a reflection of his godly traits and the affection he inspired in his devotees.

The choice of pottery as a medium highlights the traditional artistic practices of India, where artisans have long used clay to create intricate works that are both functional and ornamental. The vibrant colors and careful detailing of this piece not only demonstrate the skill of the artisan but also serve as a testament to the cultural significance of Krishna in Indian society.

Originating from a country with a profound spiritual legacy, this statue represents more than mere décor; it is a piece of history that invites reverence and appreciation for the narrative of Krishna and the artistry that has thrived in India for centuries. Weighing 2.35 kg, this figure stands as a cherished collector's item, encapsulating the essence of devotion and craftsmanship.
