Description

This large set of antique bronze Nepalese Green Tara statues, each standing at 85 cm tall, showcases the exquisite artistry of 19th-century Nepal. Known as the embodiment of compassion and wisdom, Green Tara is a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism, symbolizing the qualities of mercy and purity. The statues are elegantly crafted, displaying her serene expression and poised stance, while each pedestal measures 28.5 cm in width and 23.5 cm in depth, providing a stable and visually appealing base.

These statues, weighing 33.3 kg collectively, represent a significant cultural heritage and artistic tradition from Nepal, a country known for its rich history and deep-rooted spiritual practices. Crafted from bronze, the statues reflect the skilled craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations.

The Vitarka mudra, indicated in the design, represents the teaching of the Buddha and illustrates the flow of wisdom and insight. This reference to the teaching hand positions enhances the profound meaning embedded in the figures.

In addition to their spiritual significance, these statues serve as remarkable decorative art pieces that can be appreciated for their historical value and intricate artistry. They are not just artifacts; they embody centuries of devotion, culture, and the enduring legacy of Nepalese craftsmanship.
