Description

This exquisite Old Bronze Nepali Manjushri statue is a remarkable representation of wisdom and enlightenment in Buddhist art. Standing at 22.3 cm tall and crafted from bronze, this statue dates back to the Middle 20th century and features intricate fire gilding with 24-karat gold, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Additionally, the inlaid gemstones elevate its symbolic significance, embodying the richness of Nepali craftsmanship.

Manjushri, depicted with a sword in one hand and a lotus in the other, is revered in Buddhist tradition as the embodiment of wisdom. The sword symbolizes the cutting of ignorance and delusion, thereby illuminating the path to enlightenment. The detailed portrayal of his crown and attire signifies his elevated status in the spiritual hierarchy, while the lotus flower represents purity and enlightenment rising from the muddy waters of samsara.

Originating from Nepal, this statue not only reflects the country’s rich cultural heritage but also its deep-rooted spiritual traditions. Nepal has a long history of producing exquisite religious artifacts that serve both artistic and devotional purposes, making this piece a valuable addition to any collection of sacred art. Weighing 1.82 kg and measuring 19 cm in width and 10.3 cm in depth, this statue serves as a stunning reminder of the profound journey toward wisdom.
