Description

This exquisite Old Bronze Nepali Shiva statue beautifully showcases the artistry of Nepalese craftsmanship from the mid-20th century. Standing at 21.6 cm in height, this representation of Lord Shiva, a central deity in Hinduism, embodies both power and tranquility. The statue is enhanced with fire gilding in 24-karat gold, giving it a radiant finish that highlights intricate details.

Shiva is often depicted in a meditative pose, symbolizing his role as the destroyer and transformer within the Hindu trinity. The notable features of the statue include a trident, representing the three fundamental aspects of creation, preservation, and destruction. Shiva's serene expression invites reflection and worship.

The material, bronze, not only ensures durability but also signifies tradition; in Nepal, bronze sculptures have been created for centuries, serving religious and cultural purposes. This statue also exhibits the Abhaya mudra, which conveys a sense of reassurance and protection, suggesting a safe space for devotees.

Nepal's rich history of sculpture is deeply intertwined with its spiritual beliefs, making this statue a significant piece that encapsulates the artistic heritage of the region. It serves not only as a decorative object but also as a profound symbol of faith, guiding believers in their spiritual journey. The statue weighs 1.63 kg and measures 15.4 cm wide and 12.3 cm deep, making it a striking addition to any collection.
