This exquisite Old Burmese Buddha head dates back to the Middle 20th century and is a remarkable example of the Ava style, characterized by its serene expression and intricate detailing. Crafted from lacquerware and gilded with 24-karat gold, the statue stands at 41 cm tall and features inlaid eyes that enhance its tranquil presence.

Originating from Burma (now Myanmar), this piece reflects the rich cultural heritage and artistic traditions of the region. The Ava period, which thrived between the 14th and 18th centuries, is known for its distinctive artistic expressions that blended indigenous elements with influences from neighboring cultures. This Buddha head embodies the spiritual essence of Buddhism, where statues are created not merely as artistic representations but as manifestations of spiritual ideals.

The craftsmanship is evident in the delicate features and the layered textures of the lacquer surface, which have withstood the test of time. This unique artifact not only serves as a decorative piece but also acts as a reminder of the deep spiritual traditions that have flourished in Myanmar for centuries.
