The statue features traces of 24-karat gilding, indicating its historical value and the traditional practices of the artisans who created it. The Bhumisparsha mudra, or "Earth Touching" gesture, is depicted here, symbolizing the moment of enlightenment when the Buddha called upon the Earth to witness his quest for liberation. This mudra conveys themes of grounding, stability, and the overcoming of obstacles, resonating deeply with Buddhist teachings.
