Description

This exquisite antique bronze Thai Buddha statue, dated to the early 19th century, stands at an impressive height of 65.3 cm. Gilded meticulously with 24-karat gold, it showcases the rich craftsmanship and artistry characteristic of Thai cultural heritage. The statue's dimensions of 48.4 cm in width and 25.5 cm in depth reflect the detailed designs and careful proportions that are hallmarks of traditional Thai art.

Originating from Thailand, the statue embodies the region's profound connection to Buddhism, which has been integral to Thai culture for centuries. The Bhumisparsha mudra, depicted in this statue, symbolizes the moment of Buddha's enlightenment, representing the Earth's witness to his journey. This gesture conveys the themes of grounding and stability, fundamental concepts within Buddhist philosophy.

The meticulous attention to detail and the use of bronze not only highlight the skill of Thai artisans but also enhance the statue's spiritual significance. Each element, from the serene facial expression to the intricate patterns on the robe, tells a story of devotion, reverence, and the artistic legacy that Thailand has fostered through generations.
