The Shan people, residing primarily in eastern Myanmar, have a rich cultural heritage infused with Buddhism, which deeply influences their art. This statue embodies the essence of Buddhist philosophy, promoting peace, compassion, and mindfulness. The artist's skilled hands carefully detail the figure, capturing the serene expression common in Buddhist iconography, symbolizing enlightenment and inner tranquility.

Additionally, the statue's design is complemented by mythical creatures, such as the peacock and hares, which are often associated with auspiciousness and prosperity in Buddhist tradition.
