The Antique Nyaung-Yan Buddha, originating from Burma (Myanmar), is a remarkable testament to the artistic mastery of the 16th and 17th centuries, specifically during the Nyaung-Yan (Ava) period. This stunning statue stands at 19 cm tall and weighs 1.6 kg. It has been crafted from bronze and showcases traces of 24 karat gold, highlighting its historical significance and careful craftsmanship.

The statue's surface bears a beautiful burial patina, suggesting its passage through time and the spiritual traditions of the region. The Ava period is known for its significant contributions to Burmese art and culture, reflecting both the religious devotion and the influences of the period. The statue embodies the essence of Buddhist iconography, providing insight into the spiritual practices of its time.

The Buddha is depicted in the Bhumisparsha mudra, a symbolic gesture representing the moment of enlightenment and the call to the earth as a witness to the Buddha's awakening. This mudra emphasizes the Buddha’s realization of truth and signifies stability and grounding.

As a piece steeped in historical and cultural importance, the Antique Nyaung-Yan Buddha serves as both an artistic masterpiece and a spiritual emblem from a time that shaped the spiritual landscape of Myanmar.
