Description

This Antique Thai bronze Buddha on a Naga snake is a remarkable representation from the Rattanakosin period, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Thailand. Standing at 24 cm tall, the statue showcases exquisite craftsmanship, gilded with 24-karat gold, which accentuates its intricate details and serene presence.

The Naga, a mythical serpent often associated with protection and water, serves as a symbol of spiritual strength in this artwork. The bhudda is depicted in a Dhyana mudra, representing meditation and deep contemplation, resonating with the ideals of enlightenment found in Buddhist practices.

Originating from Thailand, this piece connects to a tradition of artistic expression that dates back centuries, particularly flourishing during the Rattanakosin era when art and culture thrived. The use of bronze as a medium highlights the durability and timelessness of the message embodied in the statue.

As an artifact from the 19th century, it not only provides insight into the spiritual beliefs of the time but also serves as a decorative piece that embodies tranquility and reverence. The combination of rich history, artistic craftsmanship, and spiritual significance makes this statue a profound addition to any collection or space dedicated to mindfulness and reflection.
