This exquisite antique Thai Buddha statue stands 24 cm tall and is adorned with 24-karat gold gilding. Originating from Thailand in the 19th century, this statue exemplifies the rich heritage of Thai craftsmanship and spiritual artistry.

The statue's serene expression and graceful posture reflect traditional Thai aesthetic values, serving as both a decorative piece and a profound symbol of Buddhist faith. The base of the statue features inscriptions in Thai, adding a historical context to its significance, likely invoking the blessings and teachings of Buddha.

Characterized by its craftsmanship, the statue is made from wood, and its measurements of 9 cm in width and 6 cm in depth make it a substantial yet manageable piece for display. The Bhumisparsha mudra, depicted by the Buddha’s right hand touching the earth, symbolizes the moment of enlightenment and the calling upon the earth to bear witness to his enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.

Thailand, known for its deep-rooted Buddhist traditions, has a long history of producing such statues, which are revered not only as artistic creations but also as spiritual artifacts. This antique Buddha statue is a beautiful representation of a bygone era, embodying the fusion of artistry and spirituality that is characteristic of Thai culture.
