This exquisite old bronze Buddha statue, originating from Burma (Myanmar), stands at a height of 51.5 cm and is characterized by its graceful design, weighing 12.25 kg. Crafted during the middle of the 20th century, it showcases the Ava style, which reflects the rich artistic heritage of Burmese Buddhism.

The Ava period, named after the ancient city of Ava, is known for its distinct representation of the Buddha, emphasizing serenity and spiritual enlightenment. This statue's features, including the calm expression and intricately styled hair, exemplify the artistic techniques of that era, conveying a sense of peace and compassion.

The seated posture of the Buddha, along with his left hand resting on his knee, embodies the Bhumisparsha mudra. This gesture signifies the moment the Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, when he called upon the Earth to witness his enlightenment, symbolizing victory over temptation and ignorance.
