Description

This exquisite Nepali Bodhisattva statue, measuring 35.6 cm in height, represents a remarkable example of 20th-century craftsmanship. Artfully crafted from bronze and enhanced with 24-karat gold gilding, this piece displays a harmony of both form and material, demonstrating the tradition of metalwork in Nepal. The inlaid gemstones further enhance its aesthetic appeal, reflecting the intricate artistry typical of the region.

Originating from Nepal, a country with deep historical ties to Buddhism, this statue symbolizes wisdom and compassion. Bodhisattvas, revered figures in Buddhist tradition, embody the ideal of achieving enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. This particular representation emphasizes the cultivation of these qualities, serving as both an object of worship and a source of inspiration.

The statue is depicted in the Dharmachakra mudra, a gesture that signifies the turning of the Wheel of Dharma, representing the Buddha's teachings and the path to enlightenment.

Nepal is known for its rich spiritual heritage, and such artifacts play a crucial role in the cultural and religious life of its people. This lavishly detailed statue not only serves as a decorative piece but also as a testament to the artistic traditions that have flourished in this region for centuries. Weighing 2.15 kg, it is both a substantial and meaningful addition to any collection.
