The statue depicts the Bhumisparsha mudra, a symbolic gesture representing the moment of enlightenment when Siddhartha Gautama, the historical Buddha, called the Earth as a witness to his attainment of nirvana. This particular mudra signifies a deep connection with the Earth and encapsulates the Buddha's teachings of grounding and stability.

Originating from Nepal, a country renowned for its rich Buddhist heritage and devotion to artistry, this statue exemplifies the spiritual and cultural significance of Buddhism in the region. The intricate details and serene expression of the figure reflect the dedication of the artisans and their deep understanding of Buddhist philosophy.
