Description

This exquisite Old Bronze Nepali Medicine Buddha statue captures the essence of traditional craftsmanship from Nepal. Standing at 21.7 cm tall and weighing 1.32 kg, it showcases the meticulous artistry associated with Middle 20th century Nepali artisans. The statue is fire gilded with 24-karat gold, enhancing its elegant appearance and underscoring the significance of gold in Buddhist iconography, often symbolizing purity and enlightenment.

The Medicine Buddha, known as Bhaisajyaguru, embodies healing and compassion. Depicted seated in a serene posture, he holds a healing herb in one hand, symbolizing the restoration of health and well-being. This particular representation reflects the deep-rooted practices of Tibetan Buddhism where Medicine Buddha is venerated for providing relief from suffering.

Nepal's rich cultural heritage intertwines deeply with Buddhism, particularly in the Kathmandu Valley, where numerous temples and stupas exemplify ancient practices and philosophies. This statue not only serves as a religious icon but also as a cultural artifact that encapsulates the spiritual aspirations of the Nepali people.

Ideal for collectors or spiritual practitioners, this thoughtful representation of the Medicine Buddha is a poignant reminder of the healing and compassionate qualities inherent in Buddhist teachings. It stands as a beautiful addition to any space, inviting contemplation and tranquility.
