This particular piece is noted for its serene expression and calm demeanor, embodying the tranquility associated with Buddhist iconography.

The statue displays the Bhumisparsha mudra, a gesture that symbolizes the Earth witnessing enlightenment. This mudra signifies the moment of the Buddha’s awakening, where he calls upon the Earth to bear witness to his attainment of Nirvana, making it a powerful emblem of spiritual awakening and grounding.

Burma, known for its rich Buddhist heritage, has a long history of producing intricate religious artworks. The Arakan area, in particular, flourished during the late medieval period, becoming a hub for the creation of bronze sculptures that reflect both local and foreign artistic influences.

Crafted from bronze, this statue weighs 1.92 kg and features a width of 14 cm and a depth of 13 cm. It stands on a beautifully designed pedestal, accentuating the significance of the figure it supports.
