Originating from Laos, a country rich in Buddhist culture and history, this statue reflects the deep reverence for Buddhism that has characterized Laotian society for centuries. The statue represents the Bhumisparsha mudra, a gesture signifying the moment of enlightenment when the Buddha called the Earth to witness his awakening. This mudra embodies the themes of stability and grounding, emphasizing the connection between the earthly and the spiritual.
