Dating back to the 18th century, this piece represents the Shan style, also known as Tai Yai, which is characterized by its elegant proportions and serene expression.

The figure depicts the Bhumisparsha mudra, symbolizing the moment of the Buddha's enlightenment, where he calls the Earth to witness his claims to enlightenment.
