This exquisite antique crowned Burmese Buddha statue epitomizes the rich cultural heritage of Burma (Myanmar) and its Buddhist traditions. Crafted from bronze during the 18th century, this statuette stands at 26.6 cm tall and has a weight of 905 grams, reflecting the artistic excellence of the Shan (Tai Yai) style.

The intricate design features a serene Buddha seated in a meditative pose, often associated with profound peace and enlightenment. The crown symbolizes the spiritual royalty of the Buddha, while the elaborate jewelry and elaborate headdress highlight the importance of divine beings in Burmese Buddhism.

Emanating a sense of tranquility, this statue captures the essence of devotion that characterizes Buddhist art of the period. The Bhumisparsha mudra, indicated in the description, represents the Buddha's moment of enlightenment, where he calls upon the Earth to bear witness to his attainment of wisdom. This gesture reinforces the connection between the Buddha and the Earth, emphasizing the grounding aspect of spiritual practice.

Burma has a long history of Buddhism, dating back to the 3rd century BCE, deeply influencing its culture, art, and architecture. This statue serves as a poignant reminder of that heritage, inviting contemplation and reverence for a tradition that has flourished for centuries.
